Whatever be the emotion behind a habit. As is believed that it's bad to have too much, be it a good thing or a bad thing. Sometimes, before a person realizes he/she becomes habituated to these escape routes and soon it becomes an addiction.

What is Addiction?

Simply put, an addiction as per rehab-finder.org/ is an unhealthy habit that a person develops, which could be an escape route for them. But a habit becomes an addiction when the person is not able to stop themselves even if they want to.

This is where a Rehab Clinic comes into play.

What is a Rehab Clinic?

Rehab Clinic is short for rehabilitation clinic. It is a place where professional help is provided for a person who is addicted to certain things. The help is provided in a residential setting and the approach is abstinence based.

The main aim of a rehab clinic is to provide all the support and care to a person and help them overcome their addiction permanently. It is often an intense program that is either provided in a traditional rehabilitation clinic or rehab clinic which is newer and local.

Traditional Rehab Clinic: This type of rehab clinic involves the person to completely break away from their routine life. The rehab clinic is usually away from home and away from addiction evoking environments. Here a person undergoes rigorous treatment to help them overcome their addiction.

Newer Rehab Clinics:  This is a comparatively modern approach. This style involves providing housing services along with structured treatment and other local provisions.

The transition from being an addict to becoming a clean and sober person is anything but easy. It involves challenges not just at the rehab clinic but involves a lifetime of commitment and dedication.

However, the outcome of a rehab center can be felt not just by the addicted individual but everyone around them. And so support needs to come not just from the rehab clinic but also from all the near and dear ones of the person as well.

Rehab clinics follow various approaches in terms of de-addiction programs.

Some of them are:

  • 12 Step: This approach involves following 12 charted out steps as a part of the recovery program that is chalked out. Here the residents move from one step to another towards an addiction free life.
  • Therapeutic Community: In this approach, the involved staff, the addiction individuals as well others participate in a social and learning community.
  • Christian Philosophy/Faith Based: This type of a program usually have religious staff working towards a better de-addicted tomorrow. The activities involved based on religious texts, studying them, discussions, prayer meetings etc.
  • Integrated Approach: This form does not follow any particular approach or pattern but has an integrated approach which is a blend of various styles.
  • Behavioral therapy: This approach involves psychological behavioral treatments which will have a long-term effect as well.
